Eat In Kitchens

Why settle for an ordinary kitchen when you can have an extraordinary kitchen?  If you have a breakfast or eating area off the kitchen, one thing I like to do is to add a little drama.  Here are just some ideas.  If you would like more ways to enhance your kitchen, contact Katy.

Add a banquette

Add a banquette for a little style.  See below how designer
Peter Dunham used a large banquette for a dramatic effect.

Use Ghost chairs

I have a fetish for see-through furniture.  See how this designer
used ghost chairs to add a modern touch with a farm house table
and traditional wing chairs.  Great look!

Incorporate Wire Chairs

Another obsession of mine is wire chairs.  They can be used anywhere
and they are classic with a mid-century feel.

Mini-room makeovers

When seasons change, I like to shop for design elements that freshen up the space and create a new look and feel.  In the winter we tend to go darker and in the spring we want to go lighter, happier, brighter.

For under $1000 you can bring new life to your space for spring.  Rearrange your furniture for a whole new look and feel.  Brighten and add some excitement through accent pillows, new tabletop lamps, throw covers and wall art.  Bring in new patterns or colors.  Clear off your coffee table and create interesting tablescapes.  Modernize your space with see through furniture.  Change your lamps and re-use your existing lamps in other rooms.

Other ideas include: bar stool slip covers, a chevron area rug, napkin rings and placemats.  Putting a room together doesn’t have to be expensive.  All you have to do is coordinate and create balance.

If you would like a mini-makeover, contact Katy Hahn Designs.
